Testing Phase

Thanks for your interest in testing the EarthRanger to SMART integration at your test site!

Before going through the test cases, we recommend you get familiar with:

Test Cases

You can find the current test checklist through this link:

1

Configure a quick link to the EarthRanger site.

EarthRanger opens in an external browser when opening the quick link.

2

n/a (automatic)

Every hour the integration will reflect the CA data model and configurable data models as event categories and event types in EarthRanger.

Things to check:

Only configurable data models marked with "Use with SMART Integrate" should be reflected in EarthRanger.

Inactive data model attributes does not show within EarthRanger.

The list of subjects reflect the employee list.

3

In your SMART CA, modify a data model or configurable data model.

Every hour the integration will reflect the CA data model and configurable data models as event categories and event types in EarthRanger.

4

In EarthRanger, create a patrol with a start location and patrol leader assigned.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

5

Create a report in EarthRanger.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

Things to check:

The location and time should match those in EarthRanger.

6

Assign a report to a patrol in EarthRanger.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

The EarthRanger report will show as a patrol waypoint in SMART.

7

In EarthRanger, update or add an attachment to a report.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

The attachment should be visible in the independent incident or patrol waypoint in SMART.

8

In your SMART CA, use the option "Create unassociated incident" within a configurable data model, and create an event in EarthRanger.

This will create a simple independent incident without any association to a patrol.

9

In your SMART CA, use the option "Add Incident to Patrol" within a configurable data model, and create an event in EarthRanger.

This option will tell SMART to match this incident with time and locations of SMART patrols. The patrol does not have to be created when the incident is made; In that case the incident will stay in the list of independent incidents and each time a new patrol is added or modified, SMART will automatically check if the incident now matches the date, time and location of an existing patrol and move the incident into that patrol once a match is found. If no match is ever found, it will stay as an independent incident.

10

In your SMART CA, use the option "Associate Incident to Patrol" within a configurable data model, and create an event in EarthRanger.

This works the same as #2 in terms of matching to a patrol. The difference is that when a match is found, the incident is not moved into the patrol, it stays as an independent incident, but the patrol ID is linked to the incident and users can look up that ID in the GUI view of the incident.
