Where Can I Find Detection Collection Schedules?

The data Skylight uses for vessel detections have various collection schedules.

 

Night Lights (VIIRS)

Collected globally multiple times times per night, generally between 01:00 and 04:00.

 

Satellite Radar from SENTINEL-1

SENTINEL-1 satellite radar revisit rate varies from 6-12 days.

The European Space Agency provides KML files with detailed information about SENTINEL-1 acquisitions. To preview collection frames/acquisition segments select the most recent collection frame plan.

  1. Click here to download the most recent collection frame plan from Sentinel-1A (will be at the top of the list)

 

  1. Open the downloaded KML file in Google Earth

  2. Use the date slider to look at 3-7 days at a time.

  3. Click the red rectangle to see collection date and time

  4. Continue moving the start and end of the slider to see more collection frames for the coming days/weeks.

 

Optical Imagery from SENTINEL-2
