Action

Expected outcome

1

Able to configure

Configure a quick link to the EarthRanger site.

EarthRanger opens in an external browser when opening the quick link.

2

The event categories in EarthRanger reflect the data model of your CA. Each event category name in EarthRanger includes the CA identifier.

Note: The data model will be automatically updated approximately every 60 minutes.

3

The event categories in EarthRanger reflect the configurable data models of your CA. Each event category name in EarthRanger includes the CA identifier.

Note 1:

4

The event types in EarthRanger reflect the data model categories in your CA.

Note 1: Only the "leaf node" categories will be represented in EarthRanger as event types. The leaf nodes must have attributes in order to be created correctly as event types in ER.

Reminder: The data model will be automatically updated approximately every 60 minutes.

5

Inactive data model attributes does not show within EarthRanger

6

When the data model or configurable data model is modified, the

n/a (automatic)

Every hour the integration will reflect the CA data model and configurable data models as event categories and event types in EarthRanger.

Things to check:

(info) Only configurable data models marked with "Use with SMART Integrate" should be reflected in EarthRanger.

Reminder: The data model will be automatically updated approximately every 60 minutes.

(info) Inactive data model attributes does not show within EarthRanger.

(info) The list of subjects reflect the employee list.

3

In your SMART CA, modify a data model or configurable data model.

Every hour the integration will reflect the CA data model and configurable data models as event categories and event types in EarthRanger

are updated correctly after the next sync intervalReminder: The data model will be automatically updated approximately every 60 minutesThe

.

7

The subject list (names under "reported by") in EarthRanger shows the full list of employees of your CA. The subject name includes the CA identifier.

Reminder: This list will be automatically updated approximately every 60 minutes.

8

Patrols created in EarthRanger are correctly pushed to the CA. The IDs in SMART and EarthRanger match.

Note: The patrols need a start location and a patrol leader assigned.

Reminder: This sync occurs aproximately every 5 minutes.

9

Reports created in EarthRanger that are not part of a patrol are created as independent incidents

Reminder: This sync occurs aproximately every 5 minutes.

10

Reports created in EarthRanger that are part of a patrol are created as patrol waypoints.

Reminder: This sync occurs aproximately every 5 minutes.

11

Attachments added to reports in EarthRanger are sent over to the CA incident or waypoint.

Reminder: This sync occurs aproximately every 5 minutes.

12

Reports updated in EarthRanger after they had been sent to the CA also receive the update.

Reminder: This sync occurs aproximately every 5 minutes.

13

The report(s) timestamp matches in EarthRanger and in the CA, even if the timezone is different.

14

The report(s) location (longitude and latitude) matches in EarthRanger and in the CA.

15

4

In EarthRanger, create a patrol with a start location and patrol leader assigned.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

5

Create a report in EarthRanger.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

Things to check:

(info) The location and time should match those in EarthRanger.

6

Assign a report to a patrol in EarthRanger.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

The EarthRanger report will show as a patrol waypoint in SMART.

7

In EarthRanger, update or add an attachment to a report.

Every five minutes the integration will create/update reports and patrols in SMART.

The attachment should be visible in the independent incident or patrol waypoint in SMART.

8

In your SMART CA, use the option "Create unassociated incident" within a configurable data model

"SMART Integrate Incident Type" works as expected

, and create an event in EarthRanger.

This will create a simple independent incident without any association to a patrol.

The

9

In your SMART CA, use the option "Add Incident to Patrol" within a configurable data model

"SMART Integrate Incident Type" works as expected

, and create an event in EarthRanger.

This option will tell SMART to match this incident with time and locations of SMART patrols. The patrol does not have to be created when the incident is made; In that case the incident will stay in the list of independent incidents and each time a new patrol is added or modified, SMART will automatically check if the incident now matches the date, time and location of an existing patrol and move the incident into that patrol once a match is found. If no match is ever found, it will stay as an independent incident.

The

10

In your SMART CA, use the option "Associate Incident to Patrol" within a configurable data model

"SMART Integrate Incident Type" works as expected

, and create an event in EarthRanger.

This works the same as #2 in terms of matching to a patrol. The difference is that when a match is found, the incident is not moved into the patrol, it stays as an independent incident, but the patrol ID is linked to the incident and users can look up that ID in the GUI view of the incident.
