In Scope
The following actions are supported in this integration, and performed on every SyncThe integration supports the following actions.
SMART to EarthRanger:
EarthRanger subjects event categories and event types are created from SMART CA patrol model membersdata models and selected configurable data models.
EarthRanger event types subjects are created from active the list of employees recorded in the SMART CA Datamodels.

EarthRanger to SMART:
Independent incidents are Events created in SMART CAs from EarthRanger events EarthRanger using the event types associated with the SMART CA are sent to SMART as independent incidents or waypoints.
Events in EarthRanger not associated with patrols
are created/updated as independent incidents in SMART
Waypoints are created in SMART From EarthRanger events associated to EarthRanger patrols.
Attachments in EarthRanger are sent to the respective SMART independent incidents and waypoints. [supported after version Smart 7.5.3]
Note that a single EarthRanger site can be linked to one or multiple SMART Conservation Areas.
🚫 Out of Scope
This integration creates and updates objects. Delete operations are not implemented.
This integration is mostly a one direction integration, pushing data in EarthRanger to SMART.
- Functionality in SMART and EarthRanger that is not included in the previous section is not part of the integration.

Events in EarthRanger associated with patrols are created/updated as patrol waypoints in SMART.
Patrols created in EarthRanger are created and updated in SMART.
Attachments included in reports in EarthRanger are attached to their respective incident or waypoint in SMART.
⚠️ Limitations
Data latency will depend on the frequency in which the SMART CA is synchronized with the server, and the frequency configured for the periodic tasks taking care of pushing data to the SMART Connect server.
Delete operations are not currently supported.
Patrols are synchronized to SMART CA using a specific patrol mandate and patrol type. See Configure your CA .

Future Releases
The following actions will be supported on future releases.
Real-time syncs between EarthRanger and SMART Connect (i.e., changes done in EarthRanger inside the SMART Desktop browser are push to SMART immediately).
Support for delete operations (i.e., remove event types and event categories when the data model changes).
Fetch patrol types from SMART.
